Georgina successfully completes the 2010 BUPA Great Manchester Run

After months of training Georgina successfully completed her run in aid of the Fungal Research Trust on the 16th June in 60 mins and 20 seconds. She had planned to complete in 60-70 minutes so was well up on her own expectations. All that hill training paid off in the end!

This was despite a hip injury which slowed her down after the 6 kilometres mark - she had been on course to complete in well under the hour but continued through the pain barrier to make sure of completing the course.

The slight tinge of disappointment was soon relieved when she heard that the current total of sponsor's online donations is a fantastic £130 with more yet to come in.

10K Appeal for the Fungal Research Trust

The Fungal Research Trust are the charity that play a major role in providing patient support at the National Aspergillosis Centre and the Aspergillus Website.
They also fund a lot of research into fungal disease, namely Aspergillosis and Candidiasis. The Fungal Research Trust are one of if not the largest charitable funder of research into Aspergillus diseases in the UK.

Georgina Powell is a Specialist Nurse in Aspergillosis who works at the National Aspergillosis Centre in UHSM, Manchester, UK caring for 100's of patients. She is going to run the BUPA Great Manchester 10K on behalf of the Fungal Research Trust and plans to do it in around 60mins.

The BUPA Great Manchester 10K takes place on Sunday 16th May 2010 so we need you to get your sponsorship in quickly!
